Time to move on...

Team

It's been a while (a long while) since we've stopped working under the name SimpleTeQ. And i think it's time to put it in the right perspective.

All of us are now working at Caresharing, which started as one of our projects around 2006. Back then, it started as an idea from Harm (our client-turned-partner at Caresharing), that sort of grew to become a business, which all of us have been involved in its growth.

Out of SimpleTeQ, here are the projects/businesses that we are now involved in, or that grew from that mindset:

  • Caresharing - an IT company working with doctors to improve healthcare delivery
  • CodrSchool - a low-key initiative to improve the exposure and quality of computer programmers, relative to web, mobile and cloud computing
  • @tweetitow - a hobby web-and-sms integrated app with a vibrant and active local community
  • BuhayStartup - a personal blog about startup, with an accompanying startup resource site, Startup Wiki

The SimpleTeQ team was composed of:

Mark - crazy guy who started and lead this team

Franee2

Franee - the rockstar programmer

Dion2

Dion - had it not for computers, the popular TV series would have been called, Dion vs. Wild

Norlan

Norlan - the mac evangelist

SimpleTeQ started out as a consulting team, working closely with clients and their core products. However, the setup is a sort of a hack, since, all of us worked as freelancers as well. Meaning, we worked together on a few projects, and also worked on our own projects. It's a setup that allowed us to bootstrap our team and our projects.

SimpleTeQ was more of an idea and a mindset, rather than a real company. So, it doesn't have it's own product. Just a collective identity of what we stand for.

I wouldn't say we were a succesful company at SimpleTeQ, since it never ever produced a product on it's own. We would have planned to do it as a boutique consulting shop developing web and mobile applications, and slowly build it's own side products as we go along. However, we were only able to do the consulting part, and then took the great opportunity to help start and build the Caresharing company.

However, like i said, it's more of an everlasting mindset, instead of a business which has it's beginning and ending. So, we're going to put SimpleTeQ as a brand to rest, but continue to do what we do, and move on with our current projects.

Personally, i have plans to go back to starting up companies, or at least help startup companies as an advisor, or be the person who sends 'sucky' e-mails to the team. I might do it as a personal effort, and with a startup accelarator firm. It's still too early to say more about my plans, so, let's just keep it as that for now. :)

Many thanks for reading!

Mark
